The Cause Of Status Of The God Of South China Sea

The God of South China Sea is a role of national sacrifices' system.Not until the Tang Dynasty,it was included into official sacrificial rites.The God of South China Sea was granted three times in Song Dynasty.We could know how much did the emperor attach importance to it from this phenomenon.Now,studies about it in academia are mainly devided into two directions:studies in the relationship between Nanhai Temple and the maritime silk road and studies in exploring the realistic value of the culture of Nanhai Temple.Although these two directions made some achievements,there's still no special paper to analyze the cause of status formation.During my study process,I find that the cause of status is complex.It wasn't coincidence that it could rise rapidly in just two dynasties.In this paper,I will sort out materials by means of literature summarization,in order to reveal the essential cause of the rise of status.The first part is introduction,I will introduce the background and the meaning of this study.The second part is the formation of orthodox status.The third part is the discussion about the meaning of sea.The fourth part is the whole process of the establishment of the God of the South China Sea.The fifth part is about social interaction.The sixth part is conclusion.The establishment of the God of South China Sea mainly due to five sectors:the orthodox concept of national sacrifice,the cognization about sea,the economic sector,the political sector and activities about ordinary people.I aim to provide a new vision in the study of the God of South China sea,enrich the culture of Nanhai Temple,and provide references for scholars.
