Trees Are Green,shadows Are Deep,summer Is Long

The Tang Dynasty was the peak period of political,economic,and cultural development in Chinese history.It had strong national power,a vast territory,and prosperous civil and military.As the literary style that best embodied the spirit of the Tang Dynasty,the Tang poetry has always received much attention in the study of Tang literature.The creation of any poem is related to time and space.Chang'an,as the capital of the Tang Dynasty,presented unique Oriental beauty under that time-and-space background.Therefore,this paper starts with the perspective of season and focuses on the Tang Dynasty.This paper selects poems about summer which is related to Chang'an as an example,summarizes methods to express seasons in these poems,and explores Tang's summer scene in Chang'an as well as poets' emotional experience through reading,sorting,and statistics.The paper consists of five parts:The first part is the introduction,summarizing the research status,significance,train of thought,characteristics and innovations.The second part focuses on the writings of summer in Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty poetry from the subject perspective of poetry creation,and discusses them from perspectives of natural scenery,human affairs and so on.The third part expounds the city space performance in Chang'an summer poetry based on the poems of gardens,mountain forests and monasteries.The fourth part explains customs and activities of the Dragon Boat Festival in Chang'an by quoting corresponding poems,and explores the characteristics of regional culture.The last part shows the charm of summer in Chang'an from the Tang Dynasty poets' writings from two aspects: writings about summer in Chang'an and writings about Chang'an in summer,and rethinks current relationship between man and nature contrast to the Tang Dynasty ecological environment in Chang'an.
