Rubato,an elastic rhythm,refers to the extension or shortening of speed.Rubato is the soul of Chopin’s music,and the use of Rubato’s rhythm adds an infinite musical appeal to Chopin’s work.Although Chopin only labels Rubato in his 11 works,some places where Rubato is not marked still require a flexible rhythm.This article takes Chopin’s Op.22 in E Major Grand Polonaise as an example.By comparing Martha Argerich,Garrick Ohlsson and Li Yundi,they have won Chopin International.The pianist of the piano competition champion played the recording of this work.Study Tempo Rubato’s use in Chopin’s music.
