At the beginning of the 20th century,against the backdrop of the new culture and new thought movement,an increasing number of people went abroad to study western music.Ma Sicong was among the first batch of returned overseas talents in modern China.His "Suiyuan Suite" is one of the earliest Chinese violin compositions born in the context of western music whose second movement "Nostalgia" is very well-known."Suiyuan Suite" is the pioneer of Chinese violin compositions successfully going global which perfectly integrates the ethnic melody and playing techniques with Chinese characteristics.The study of"Suiyuan Suite" has far-reaching significance.The author finds that later Chinese violin compositions more or less share some similarities that can be found in the "Suiyuan Suite" From the selection of topics to the collection of materials,this essay revolves around the "Suiyuan Suite"and the development of Chinese violin in the 20th century.It horizontally and vertically combs the development of Chinese violin compositions and focuses on the study of the music of the "Suiyuan Suite" It cannot only learn the playing techniques combined with Chinese and foreign style,but also explore the mystery of Chinese music going global with the violin as a medium.
