The guild was an important part of the England economy in the middle ages.In Medieval England,medieval guild is an important economic,political and social religious organization.Although a lot of research achievements in political function or economic function of guild varies,the relationship between the Catholic Church and the medieval England guild has a little.This paper attempts to take it as the breakthrough point,explore the religious elements of medieval England guild,so as to clarify the important influence of the Catholic factors on the formation and development of the guild.The medieval English guild went through three historical stages:merchant guild,handicraft guild and company.It played an important role in the urban economy of medieval England.The relationship between the Catholic and the forming and management of guild was close,that was,the form of guild was inseparable from the admission of the Catholic,the Catholic clergy took part in the administrative activities of guild,and the two form a community of interests;Changes of the Catholic economic ethics created a good business environment and a higher social and economic status for the development of medieval England guild,being an important driving force to the development of guild;Similarly,medieval England guild played its political and economic functions at the same time,the function of religion had become increasingly prominent,actively carrying out religious activities and social relief function,having influence on medieval people’s social life,and standardizing and guiding the city economy in middle ages.This thesis is based on the medieval England guild,focusing on the role of Catholics in the economic and social life of the guild,and is intended to explore the connections between the two.The full text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is a summary.The author will make a comprehensive analysis of the British guild in the middle ages,which can be divided into three aspects:the definition of concept and time,the development of the British guild in the middle ages,and the debate on the origin of the guild.This chapter is intended to be expressed in several aspects,thus laying the foundation for subsequent chapters.The second chapter is the core of this article.The author discusses the relationship between the Catholic and the formation and development of guilds in Medieval England,which can be divided into some aspects:a religious guild charter which the Catholic Church issued,agreement with sides,the church clergy which the Catholic Church send,and so on,so as to discuss the influence on guild from the Catholic in the early period of guild.The third chapter is also the core of this article.The author focuses on the important role of the transformation of Catholic economic ethics to the operation of guilds.It is demonstrated from the perspective of the theory of restraining commerce and the theory of just price,which is the continuation and further development of the last chapter,as well as the basis for the study of the next chapter.The fourth chapter is the final chapter of this article,also the conclusion,and the logical thinking is consistent with the before.What are the major manifestations of a community organization that is closely related to religion,based on the cognition of the social life of the guild?This will be the focus of this chapter,and the specific content will be carried out.
