The Image Of The Dictator In Gabriel Marquez From The Perspective Of Post-colonial

Gabriel Garcia Marquez(1927-2014)was one of the most important writers in Latin America in the 20 th century,and created a series of dictators in his pen.Behind these images,there is a profound social implication.In Marquez’s pen,the dictator was no longer the tyrannical ruler of the traditional impression,and behind the shrines,they would also be trapped in a lonely swamp and lost their identity.By Garcia Marquez writing dictator,not only to reshape the dictator image of the reverse the official discourse,at the same time also hope to the oppressed Latin American people be able to look back at history.This paper after colonialism theory as the basis,combining with the text,to explore the image characteristics of identity and the totalitarian dictator,Garcia Marquez’s the people behind the image,and thus puts forward solution against colonial oppression.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part starts with the image characteristics of the dictator and probes into the inner root of the dictator’s pursuit of power.The second part focused on the dictator’s identity cognition,dictator when enjoy the power of the glory,but have to face the colonists and subversive power of the lower people fear,lose.The third part is the perspective was gathered in the rule of public,people deprived of personal power will inevitably lead to the loss of self discourse,and the loss of power caused by the distance will make people slowly into the isolated state,which is Latin America’s biggest problem.The fourth part is from solve loneliness,Garcia Marquez as Latin American nation history the most sober cognition,he tries to rewrite history in Latin America,help people to get rid of the colonial discourse and rediscover history,but for the Latin American nation,the only way to get rid of loneliness only the whole nation unity can break through the strong totalitarian,get rid of at the mercy of the violence,for self identity.
