Scipio Africanus was the consul and general in the Roman Republic. He came from a branch of the ancient Roman aristocratic family clan Cornelius. There was a bearded consul,Lucius Cornelius Scipio Barbatus, who was famous during the first Punic War,and Publius Cornelius Scipio Aemilianus Africanus. He had amazing military ability, command ability, and he killed the enemy and saved his father in the battlefield at a young age, with extraordinary courage. After the second Punic War broke out,the Roman army was defeated by Hannibal, and when the country was in peril,Scipio Africanus saved Rome from crisis. The second Punic War began to take a turn, since 211 BC,as the Scipio Africanus came to Spain served as an inspector. He seized the New Carthage in Spain, drove Carthage out of Spain, went deep into African territory, forced Hannibal back in Italy, and pulled the battle field to Carthage.Meanwhile he defeated Hannibal, made Carthage a Roman dependency, conquered the Eastern Mediterranean Sea,defeated the Kingdom of Seleucus in the Kingdom of Macedonia, cleared the obstacles of the Eastern Mediterranean Sea,and covered the whole Mediterranean region, established the territory including the Roman Republic of Asia,Europe and Africa. He reformed the Roman army's training methods and improved the Roman Legion's weaponry, which greatly strengthened the Roman army's combat effectiveness. As a result of the prudent foreign policy formulated by Scipio Africanus, the Mediterranean countries have been subject to the protection of Rome.In his later years, when his body was in a state of decline, his political opponents took the opportunity to censure him,and used the reason that he had violated the orders of the Roman Senate in his war to attack him politically, thereby ending his political career.Left Rome.Historically,Scipio Africanus has played a very important role in the rise of the Roman Republic, but we must also be aware that the success of Scipio Africanus was achieved only by the accumulation of predecessors, and with the support of the Roman Senate. It is not entirely a personal achievement. This paper consists of three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction part introduces the data source of this article, domestic and foreign research results. The first part of the text introduces the family and members of the Scipio Africanus and his life, the second part introduces his military and political activities. The third part introduces the influence of Scipio Africanus on the rise of the Roman Republic and its evaluation. The conclusion sums up the life of the Scipio Africanus.
