A Study Of Master Zhu-hong's Views Of The Relationship Of Ch'An And Pure Land

In the late stage of Ming dynasty,Buddhism revived rapidly and showed great vitality.Master Zhu-hong was one of the key figure in the revival,have made great efforts to revitalize the Buddhism.His thought of the relationship of Ch'an and Pure Land was very important on the development of Buddhism.This paper is intended to face problems in the development of Buddhism in late Ming Dynasty as the background,to explore master Zhu-hong 's point of the relationship of Ch,an and Pure Land.The first chapter is to show the background of the late stage of Ming dynasty,and introduce the master Zhu-hong's life,friends and works.The second chapter is the foundation of master Zhu-hong's thought.The third chapter is about the idea of master Zhu-hong's thought of the relationship of Ch'an and Pure Land.The fourth chapter contrasts master Zhu-hong's thoughts with the ideas of other masters for Ch'an and Pure Land,include master Yan-shou's ideas,master Zhen-ke's ideas,master De-qing's ideas,and master Zhi-xu's ideas.
