A Study On Wan Chan-wu's Film Criticism

In this paper,through the careful reading of the text,under the academic view of the history of literary and art criticism,I am systematically combs Wang's concept of film criticism and tries to present his theory as a whole."take history as a mirror",carries on the reflection,anticipates to give the Chinese movie development with the theory enlightenment and the warning.First of all,starting from Wang's overall concept of film criticism,explore,establish,and promote three stages to sort out the process of film criticism.The three stages show different characteristics because Wang Chan-wu has not changed his party political identity with the change of state and film situation.In this process,one's own traditional ideas collide with the new ones,resulting in different stages.Secondly,analyzes Wang's opinion of film criticism from three aspects:time,class analysis and culture.Film is a carrier of his political activities and a tool for his proletarian revolution.Therefore,he argued The subject of film creation uses the dialectics of "class" to show the expressive power of "times" and deepen the cultural connotation of film criticism.Finally,standing on the diachronic and synchronic dimension,the overall concept is sorted out.As the representative of left-wing film criticism,he constantly laid the foundation of left-wing film theory,held a fair and objective attitude,and improved the bad atmosphere of the critics at that time.However,the choice and limitation of the acceptance of the foreign theory by the left wing,coupled with the strong discourse of political inclination,inevitably make Wang Dun ignore the uniqueness of the Noumenon Aesthetics of Film as a New Art.
