Yan Dan Zi is written in the theme of Jing Ke ' s Assassin,which is a tragedy ·widely known in Chinese history.The book puts Yan Tai Zi whose name is Dan in the core of the whole story,and narrating whom hires the assassin Jing Ke to revenge Qin Dynasty.The age of Yan Dan Zi has awlays been the focus of academic discussion.Due to the book is unrecorded in the Han Shu Yi Wen Zhi and is recorded until Sui Shu Jing Ji Zhi,it is unable to decide which opinion is right about the age of the book.And the main arguments are as follows:"The Warring States theory"?"The Qin and Han Dynasty"?"The Eastern Han Dynasty",and even the later "The Sui Dynasty".These two problems are the keys to probe into the age of Yan Dan Zi which are the stone materials of the Han Dynasty of Jing Ke's Assassin and the age conflict of Yan Dan Zi and the Historical Records.They are the most important document literature which is discussed by scholars and people-to-people.They also consist of the origin source of Yan Dan Zi after the event of Jing Ke 's Assassin.The paper holds the opinion that Yan Dan Zi draws on the Experience of Historical Records,which is finalized at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty.Based on the careful reading of large number of relevant literature,this paper makes a detailed comparison of the two types of literature materials to explore the reason of Yan Dan Zi spreading in two thousand years and continuing to be alive.Through comparative study,the paper's main points of conclusions are as follows:Firstly,as an important document source of Yan Dan Zi,the prosperity of Jing Ke's Assassin in the Eastern Han Dynasty provided a broad social basis for the prosperity of Yan Dan Zi;Secondly,Yan Dan Zi may be fanalized at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty,its success is not only showing in the absorption of Historical Records but also reflecting in the transcendence of fictional art;Finally,as the earliest existing novel form of Jing ke's Assassin,Yan Dan Zi,whose relatively mature novelist style of writing,laying a solid foundation for the later generation of heroic legend,and the creation of martial arts novels.And it has an irreplaceable foundation in the development history of Chinese novels.
