| The report is based on the interpreter's interpreting for Shandong Smart International Business Consulting Co.,Ltd.on April 12,2017.Besides working as an interpreter,the interpreter also served as an assistant of the client in the practice,demonstrating her subjectivity in the process of this liaison interpreting.Manifestations of interpreter subjectivity can help both parties to better achieve their own communication purpose.The interpreter selects parts of the recording to analyze her demonstration of subjectivity in the interpreting practice.Interpreter subjectivity has three forms of expression,namely,interpreters' visibility,empowerment and non-neutrality.The analysis of each of the above three forms of expression will be carried out in the following three aspects:first,the occasions where the interpreter's subjectivity is manifested through specific roles and interpreting strategies;second,the reason the interpreter shows her subjectivity in a certain context or turn of talk;and third,the influence of the interpreter's subjectivity on the communication.In this way,the interpreter can obtain a better understanding of interpreters' roles in certain situations,in the hope that she could do a better job later.Apart from introduction and conclusion,the report consists of four chapters.Introduction tells the importance of interpreter subjectivity in the liaison interpreting-Chapter One gives a brief description of the interpreting task and preparation work of the interpreter;Chapter Two introduces two important concepts in the report-liaison interpreting and interpreter subjectivity;Chapter Three explains how the interpreter demonstrates her subjectivity in the interpreting practice with analysis of specific examples;and Chapter Four is the author's self-reflections on the practice,giving consideration to the client's feedback,difficulties amid the interpreting process,and lessons learned for future improvement.Conclusion covers the limitations and implication of this report. |
