The material of this translation practice is selected from the first and second chapters of Advanced Options Trading.It mainly introduces the main participants in the current market and their trading goals as well as the basic knowledge of options trading.This book is very informative and instructive,since it provides a wealth of information for financial professionals and individual investors,with theoretical and practical significance.This report is divided into four parts,part one: the description of translation task,part two: the description of translation process,part three: case analysis and part four:conclusion.Among these parts,case analysis is the main part of the report.With typical translation cases,the translator introduces the difficulties encountered in the English-Chinese translation process from three aspects: vocabulary,syntax and discourse.At the lexical level,for the translation of terminology,the translator mainly consulted professional dictionaries and compared with parallel texts to determine their meanings;for other difficulties in lexical,the translator mainly used some translation skills,such as word formation,semantic selection and epexegesis.At the syntactic level,the translator mainly used certain translation methods such as sentence splitting,hysteron-proteron and recasting.At the discourse level,the translator mainly used cohesive means of anaphora and connection to make the translation smooth.Through this translation practice,the translator has not only accumulated an large amount of translation experience,but also recognized the deficiencies in her own translation process.In the future work and study,the translator needs to constantly read and accumulate excellent expressions in bilingual texts and improve the capability of usage in both Chinese and English so as to become a better translator.
