In the past 30 years of the Anglo-Saxon philosophy, some scholars began to use the label "Quietism" to characterize the basic feature of Wittgenstein's philosophy.Although it is often regarded as representing the different and opposite elements of Wittgenstein's philosophy from traditional philosophy and contemporary mainstream in the Anglo-Saxon philosophy,it also refers to those philosopher's philosophy who are deeply influenced by Wittgenstein and claim to be "Quietism".Because of Wittgenstein's philosophical transformational character is not one-dimensional,and those philosophers who are also labelled as "Quietism" differ in degree and perspective of the transformation and absorption of Wittgenstein's philosophy and methods,As a result, our understanding of Wittgensteinian "Quietism" has become difficult, which requires us to carefully and academically clarify and reinterpret it,In order to reasonably judge the true relationship between Wittgensteinian "Quietism" and other"Quietism",deepen the understanding and grasp of Wittgenstein's philosophy.First of all, this thesis sorts out and explains the two currently influential understandings of the concept of "Quietism",and demonstrates their emphasis and rationality. The goal is to maintain a distance between our understanding of Wittgenstein,s "Quietism" and the various uses that are popular but easily misunderstood. Then, starting from the book "Philosophical Studies",I tried to objectively and accurately understand the basic spirit and method of Wittgenstein's later philosophy, and peeled off the core of Wittgensteinian "Quietism" that was intensively discussed by the philosophers, and discuss its changes and extensions. This will help us to fully understand the features and philosophical effects of "quietism",so that we can rethink the future and possibilities of philosophy. This thesis consists of "Introduction" and three chapters, which is logically related to each other. In the first chapter,I analyzed how Wittgensteinian "Quietism" was raised.I pointed out that in Wittgenstein,it was initially understood as a sharp attitude of rejection of substantive philosophical theories. This attitude, first affecting Rorty later, who saw the hope of a new philosophy.Starting from the philosophical standpoint of neo-pragmatism,Rorty inherited this philosophical attitude of "Quietism" and interpreted the philosophical activities as a cultural politics that advocates multi-dimensional dialogue.Next,I use the entire second chapter to study another school of thought represented by McDowell.I pointed out that the school's position emphasizes another dimension of Wittgensteinian "Quietism":the function of treatment. However, according to my research,McDowell himself did not act in accordance with the original method of "Quietism",but constructed his own philosophical system along the lines of "therapeutics".Therefore,I think that his efforts are not in line with Wittgenstein's philosophy. His so-called philosophical treatment is actually closer to a kind of internal reconciliation within the theory. In order to restore the original source,I return to Wittgenstein's philosophy itself in the third chapter.I 'started with the superficial features of philosophical treatment and rejection of philosophical theories and explored the surveyable representation of language in Wittgenstein's later works, represented by Philosophical Investigations. In which we find that Wittgenstein's ownphilosophical activities can be regarded as a kind of "Quietism" philosophy, which is not an "Anti-philosophy",It is a "new philosophy" that subverts the research methods of traditional philosophy.
