The Griffin

The thesis is about the winged chimera across the Eurasia.There are three parts:the foreign winged chimera,the Chinese winged chimera,and the Sino-Western exchange history behind the winged chimera.There are many forms of winged chimeras.Among them the most famous one is griffin.Griffin is recorded by Herodotus in his work[Histories],and it appears frequently in Russian Artifacts.Griffin is a mixture of eagle and lion.And the eagle-griffin is the most common one.Later,horse-griffin,deer-griffin,and fish griffin were created.Also,other winged chimera will be talked about.And in China,there are many winged chimeras.They will be discussed with historical texts and artifacts,especially the god of wind,Feilian.And Feilian will be compared with his Western cousins.The third part is focused on the Sino-Western exchange history.There are some example.The topic is mainly about winged chimera and the Sino-Western exchange history behind it.
