With the increasingly cooperation between China and Thailand in various fields,Chinese learning has become a link between the two countries,and the number of international students who study Chinese has increased in recent years.Phonetic is the first step in learning any language.It’ s the key to begin a new language.Thai and Chinese belong to the Sino-Tibetan language family.There are many similar and different points between two languages in pronunciation rules,those similar and different points brought negative transfer to students when learning Chinese phonetic.Among them,Thai students’ "Thai accent" Chinese,which is closely related to the negative transfer of their mother tongue.This paper analysis the acquisition situation about Chinese secondary vowels among Thailand students of intermediate stage basing on the experimental phonetics study,and put forward some suggestions of teaching.This paper consists of six parts.The first chapter is the introduction,the main explanation for the origin of the stusy,discusses the sources of the topic,introduce the current research situation of vowels pattern at home and abroad,introduce the present situation and development trend of Chinese phonetic teaching with vowels pattern theory research.Finally,clarify the purpose and significance of this experimental study.The second chapter is the comparison between Chinese and Thai phonetics.This chapter systematically compares Chinese and Thai phonetic system from three aspects of consonants,vowels and tones.The third chapter is the experimental design.This chapter mainly introduces the tasks,objects,experimental materials,experimental procedures and shortcomings of the experiment.The fourth part analysis the experimental results of Chinese secondary vowels between Chinese students and Thailand students.In this chapter,the Chinese secondary vowels chart,diagram,formant parameters of Thailand students were analyzed with the experimental phonetics methods.The fifth chapter discuss the causes of Chinese secondary vowels pronunciation error made by students.This chapter points out that the main factor affecting the second vowels acquisition are negative transfer of mother tongue and target language knowledge generalization,Scheme for the Chinese Phonetic Alphabe,the influence of the teaching material,teaching effects and students themselves,etc.Plus,puts forward corresponding phonetic teaching strategies.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,summarizing the conclusion of the acoustical experiment,and pointing out the deficiencies in the operation of the acoustic experiment.
