The theme of this paper is the average age of death in the Southern Sung dynasty.The main basis of the historical data is from the literature of the ancient tombs,and through the interpretation of the epitaph literature,statistics about the life and death of the characters and the causes of death,and the life level of the Southern Sung people from different perspectives.The first part is the estimation of the average age of death in the Southern Sung Dynasty.A total of 2166 historical records of the Southern Sung Dynasty were collected in this paper.The average death age of the Southern Sung people was 63.6677 years old.In the Southern Sung Dynasty,the average age of death in the late Southern Sung Dynasty was the highest and the death age of the early population was the lowest.In addition,according to the different social status of different groups,they are divided into four groups,which are clan,official,monk road and cloth clothing group,the life expectancy of the clan group is the lowest,and the life expectancy of the monk Taoist group is the highest.Presumably it is possible to do so.There is a certain relationship between selecting sample data.Through the sample data and 52 couples sample data,we can see that the average age of death in the Southern Sung Dynasty is slightly higher than that in the male group.But at the age of 51-75,the number of male deaths in the Southern Sung Dynasty was higher than that of the female group.On the contrary,the number and proportion of female groups in the Southern Sung Dynasty were higher than those of the male group in the low age group under the age of 50 and in the high age group over 76 years old.The female group in Southern Sung Dynasty had such a condition,which was influenced by fertility factors.In this paper,the reasons for the death of the southern sung dynasty were investigated,mainly according to the data of the cause of death in the history of the epitaph,and the investigation was mainly carried out on diseases and non-diseases.To be sure,the epitaph data about illness description is not enough detailed record,therefore,cannot be as accurate as modern medical diagnosis of patients,this article only on the basis of literature interpretation of traditional Chinese medicine,speculate the analysis,the cause of death for the southern sung dynasty population have a certain understanding.The second part is mainly based on the historical data of the epitaph.Some of the reasons for the death of certain people in the Southern Sung Dynasty are investigated,mainly from the disease and non disease.It is necessary to explain that the records of the description of the disease in the epitaph data are not detailed enough.Therefore,it is impossible to accurately diagnose the patient's condition like modern medicine.This article is only based on the interpretation of traditional Chinese medicine literature,so as to make a definite understanding of the cause of death of a specific group in the Southern Sung Dynasty.The third part mainly studies the question of the life and death of the officials of the Southern Sung Dynasty,which is embodied in the epitaph,and explores from the three different angles of discovery,death,parsing and death.In the field of life and death,on the one hand,it emphasizes the death view of the officials of the Southern Sung Dynasty.On the one hand,it pays more attention to the change of the attitude of the group under the influence of the Buddhist thought.Analysis of funeral,mainly analyzes the intellectuals funeral concept.At the end of last teachings,mainly analyzes the ultimate concern of intellectuals from the perspective of the teachings of the words.
