The Research Of Citing The Book Of Poetry In Xunzi

There are many different opinions about the analysis of characteristics of citing the Book of Poetry in Xunzi.They stand in a position of analogy,some word cited or the citation number,and so on.The method is not unified.In fact,It is the better and proper method of close reading and inducing all citing the Book of Poetry in Xunzi.Because these methods can make us deeply analyze the forms of citing Poetry in Xunzi and understand the thought of Xunzi.My paper stands in a position of the two books,Xunzi and the Book of Poetry.According to some related texts,analyzing the reasons,characteristics,thought and influence of citing the Book of Poetry in Xunzi by close reading,in order to analyze the form of citing the Book of Poetry in Xunzi,who epitomized the thought of the Confucian in the Pre-Qin,and get myself inner understanding and interpretation.This article is composed by three parts:foreword,main body and conclusion.The foreword mainly introduces the reason and significance of this dissertation,the study condition of Xunzi’s citing the Book of Poetry,main contents of every chapter,research thinking,the researching methods and innovation.The main body consists of three parts.The first part is the second chapter,introducing the culture background of Xunzi’s citing the Book of Poetry.It includes the following contents:the system of rites and music in Zhou dynasty,the general situations of the citing the Book of Poetry in the History Books and the Thinkers’ Books in the Pre-Qin period,and rational thinking of the Warring States period.The second part is third chapter,analyzing the characteristics by making the table of Xunzi’s citing the Book of Poetry,including pattern and type of construction and aestheticcharacteristics.The third part is the fourth chapter,revealing the Xunzi’s thinking like Confucian moral thought and poetic thought of Xunzi.The conclusion summarizes the main content of the study.We have known that Xunzi cited the Book of Poetry in order to prove his theory.Xunzi wanted to indicate his political thinking by citing the Book of Poetry,and then make governor believe him and achieve his political ambition.Xunzi has developed educating function of the Book of Poetry and also emphasized that gentlemen should study hard and cultivate their moral character,which reflects Xunzi’s Confucian ethics.In a word,it is useful to make the research more systematical and regular by analyzing and researching the phenomenon of citing the Book of Poetry of Xunzi.It can make us more deeply understand Xunzi,the Book of Poetry,the culture background of the Pre-Qin period and the system of rites and music by analyzing the reasons and characteristics and types by making the table of Xun Zi’s citing the Book of Poetry.Citing the Book of Poetry of Xunzi has provided important resources for the development of Chinese poetry theory and has enriched and developed the Confucian poetics.Xunzi’s noble moral thought and poetic thought drive us to find ourselves lost and deserted spiritual home.
