Sibelius was a famous Finnish composer,who was a representative of the great folk music of late romanticism.In Sibelius,we once again see a very important impact this legendary figure has made on the history of the development of the Nordic culture.Although his name is closely linked to the Finnish nationalist movement,there is more to Sibelius than nationalism.He was so fascinated by the natural scenery and pastoral scenery that a lot of description of the infinite scenery of nature and excellent skills have been shown in this famous Violin Concerto in d minor.Sibelius was in the late romantic era,so he was very skillful in the use of romantism.Though he has created a lot of classic works in many areas,this is the one of the famouse violin concerto in the word,also a most important musical composition which is concerto for him only.There are three chapters in this thesis.The first chapter introduces the characteristics of the times of Sibelius and the background of his creation of the first concerto.The second chapter is based on the existing information to analyze the different performers on the concerto with different interpretation of style and characteristics.The third chapter is a detailed analysis of this work,including the features of each music movement,the problems and solutions encountered in learning as well as the performance techniques in every section.Through this detailed analysis of the concerto's style and performance skills,the article explores the influence of external environment,and the composer's inner most thoughts in the hope of getting to know the composer's wishes and presenting this classic in a better way.
