| Textbooks,with their burdened education principles and ideals,work as the foot-stone for teaching and learning activities and demonstrate those activities’ whole process.For children,They are not only to enlighten their intelligence and perfect their personality,but also to undertake the mission of renaissance of Chinese culture.The paper takes piano textbooks for children as the subject of the study.Piano teachers from 10 cities in China were surveyed with questionnaires regarding their comments and suggestions on their textbooks.The study analyzed the literature relating to textbook research and development as well as child’s comprehensive ability on music.With collection,collation,analysis and comparison of Chinese children piano teaching publications and original publications in western countries,the author designs and creates a set of piano textbook.The findings of this study have raised so many practical and theoretical implications about children musical textbooks,based on theories of philosophy of music education,constructivism learning and multicultural education.The thesis is composed of an introduction and four chapters.The introduction outlines the origin,purpose,meaning,research methods,and concept definition.Chapter 1 is the analysis of present situation by Questionnaire survey and literature review.Chapter 2 illustrates relevant literature and theoretical implications.Chapter 3 includes practical process of designing teaching materials,and chapter 4 is about the study’s limitations.The aim of the study is to make contribution to child’s piano education and textbook development in china.Reference for piano teaching and research could be provided for the future work. |
