Chinese landscape painting has a long history.The landscape sketching,an essential part of Chinese landscape painting,plays an important role in the development of Chinese landscape painting.The landscape sketching originated from the Five Dynasties.The leading persons,such as Jing Hao,Fan Kuan,Dong Yuan and Ju Ran,they traveled many places with great rivers and mountains and created countless masterpieces.Later,Ma Yuan,Xia Gui(Southern Song Dynasty)and Shi Tao(Ming and Qing Dynasty),they paid more attention to landscape painting.With the change of times and the blending of Chinese and Western culture,the pattern of landscape painting also has changed,which provided a greater development space for the exploration and development of it.The reform movement of contemporary landscape was performed by sketching,Li Keran,Fu Baoshi and Shi Lu as the representative of the landscape painter provided a new power in the vigorous movement in the 50s and 60s.Now we are on the way to undertake the tradition and to explore the contemporary painting.As a major subject of landscape painting,landscape sketching,especially in today,is always an important form to dialogue with nature.The questions of how to blend nature with the new aesthetic features,how to draw lessons from the predecessors and how to constantly seek their own characteristics and style in the process of sketching,need our generation to think.Through the study of each period of landscape painting,we can have a better understanding of its concept,origin,history and techniques,enrich its achievements,provide more information on its research,which can enrich its creative techniques.Besides,through the exploration of the representative painters in their theory or painting achievements,we can enrich our painting ideas and pave a way to our painting development,technology refinement,and style establishment.
