On The Art Of Repetition In Yeat’s Poems

"Repetition" is a kind of frequently in literary creation plays a prominent role,emphasis on rhetoric means.For the compose of poetry,whether it is the micro skills of writing,or the idea of macro thoughts,can be expressed by poetry repetition.In Yeats’s lyric poetry,repepition is not only expressed in the poetry language(such as phonological repetition,word repetition,and structure repetition),but also implicated in the mysticism in Yeats’s mind profoundly.This paper is based on Yeats in the late Lyric Poetry in "repetition" narrative art research methods,tries to combine the theory through Stylistic and Poetic Narrative,explore the "Repetition" in the poems is how to express the emotion or how to narrate.Yeats is the epitome of classicalism and modernism.His poetry achievement is huge,and it is a good model to study the narrative function of "Repetition" in Lyric poetry.Late is the golden age of Yeats’s poetry creation.the poetic symbolism,realism and metaphysics,melting in a furnace,consummate.Especially in Meckel Robartes and Dancer(1921),The Tower(1928),The winding stair and other poems(1933)these three poems,Yeats put his faith and philosophy into poetry.It embodies Yeats’s unique personal ideological tendency,which combines the circle the history,the concept of time and space,and the poet tries to explore how detached soul life,reach eternity.Based on the theoretical knowledge of stylistics and narratology,this paper makes an analysis of the repetition in Yeats’s poetic language and struture.In the first part,the author makes a thorough analysis of the stylistic features of Yeats’s poems from three aspects:phonological repetition,repetition of words and grammatical repetition.The second part,starting with the analysis of the specific poetry texts,studies the repeated narrative functions of Yeats’s poetry.The third part studies the ideological connotation which has been repeated in the different poems.The final conclusion,the repetition on Yeats’ poety in the late period is not only an important part of stylistic and narrative function;repetition also reflects the Yeats’s literary creation intention and social historical view,has a profound ideological content.
