With Songs Of Lament I Sigh For My Short Robes,White-haired,the Hopes Of My Prime Gone Away

Since the 1980s,the researches on notable traitors in the China' s republican era(1912-1949)have achieved a substantial number.However,as a core member of the Wang Jingwei's "Peace Movement",Mei Siping,who has taken an important official position in the "Wang's puppet government"1,has not been studied yet.This study summarizes the key stages of Mei's life by reviewing.Then it explores questions such as what are the origin,development,change and characteristics of MeiSiping's political ideology;and how was the ideology changed by compromising to the political reality in which MeiSiping participated;what is the process of Mei Siping from a patriotic scholar into a "traitor politician";and how did his mind struggle in the period.In addition,what are the Factors that made Mei Siping's life change and what are Mei Siping's considerations that made him remain his political choices.Finally,this study is trying to provide a multi-level,complex explanation about Mei Siping's tragic destiny.
