The Diagnostic Value Of FNA-MK For Thyroid Nodules

ObjectiveTo investigate the value of fine needle aspiration-midkine(FNA-MK)in diagnosing the nature of thyroid nodules.MethodsFrom March 2018 to December 2019,72 patients underwent ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration(FNA)and surgery in the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University.A total of 85 thyroid nodule samples were collected.The cell eluent of each sample was collected,and the postoperative paraffin pathological results were counted.According to the paraffin pathological results,the samples were divided into malignant nodule group and benign nodule group.The age,lesion diameter and fine needle aspiration-midkine(FNA-MK)were compared between the two groups;Pearson correlation analysis was used to compare the correlation of FNA-MK with age and lesion diameter in malignant nodules group,benign nodules group and all samples;ROC curve was used to analyze the diagnostic efficiency of FNA-MK in each sample.ResultAmong the 85 samples,38 were diagnosed as malignant thyroid nodules and 47 as benign thyroid nodules.Compared with benign nodule group,FNA-MK in malignant nodule group increased(P < 0.01),but there was no significant difference in lesion diameter and age(P > 0.05);There was no correlation between FNA-MK and age,lesion diameter in malignant nodules group,benign nodules group and all thyroid nodules(P > 0.05);ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of FNA-MK in thyroid nodules was 0.766,Youden index was 0.4602,cut off value was 0.43,sensitivity was 72.34%,specificity was 73.68%.ConclusionFNA-MK has certain reference value for the diagnosis of the nature of thyroid nodules,which may provide a new idea for rapid diagnosing of thyroid cancer in the future.
