Objectives This paper is aimed to explore the clinical feasibility of treating mild to moderate SLE with the combination of acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and finally provide a new safe and effective treatment for the complicated disease of SLE in a way of combining the treatment model of acupuncture and Chinese medicine with the theory of meridians and collaterals and observing the efficacy and safety of the tutor's selfdesigned agreement prescription of Tong Bu Jiang Zhuo Fang combined with acupuncture therapy in the treatment of patients with spleen and kidney deficiency and dampness and blood stasis and obstruction type of mild to moderate SLE.Methods The author of this paper selected patients with systemic lupus erythematosus who visited the outpatient department and the inpatient department of the chief physician Gu Jun Hua from February 2018 to January 2019 and met the inclusion criteria and then randomly divided them into two groups--acupuncture group(oral Tongbujiangzhuofang plus acupuncture group)and the traditional Chinese medicine group(oral Tongbujiangzhuofang)according to the random control method.During the 3-month treating process, the curative effect and safety indicators and TCM syndrome integral of the two groups before and after the treatment were recorded respectively to observe the curative effect and safety of two groups based on which a contrastive analysis was made and a conclusion was drawn finally. Results According to the SLEDAI score, the improvement of acupuncture group was better than that of traditional Chinese medicine group(P < 0.05).From the changes of serum laboratory tests,it was found that the acupuncture group had better efficacy than the traditional Chinese medicine group in improving erythrocyte sedimentation rate, proteinuria and Serum C3(P < 0.05).From the perspective of safety indicators, all the safety laboratory indicators before and after treatment in the two groups showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P > 0.05),indicating that the treatment was safe. From the point of TCM syndrome integral efficient, needle medicine group of TCM syndrome integral effectiveness 85.29%,above 64.71% of the Chinese traditional medicine group(P < 0.05),suggesting the needle medicine group to improve the curative effect of TCM syndrome is superior to the traditional Chinese medicine group, especially in the soreness and weakness of waist and knees, arthralgia, tinnitus, edema, frequent urination at night, urine bubble, abdominal fullness and distention, loose stool, eight symptoms on needle medicine group has more advantages and the security and stability. However, the glucocorticoid dosage of patients in the two groups decreased after treatment(P < 0.01),and the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P > 0.05),so the two groups were beneficial for the safe withdrawal and reduction of glucocorticoid during treatment, but there were no significant differences in the effects. Conclusion The combination of acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the treatment of mild to moderate systemic lupus erythematosus has advantages and safety in the controlling of disease activities, improvement of TCM syndrome points and adjuvant hormone withdrawal, which can be applied in clinical practice for a long time and it has become a new choice for safe and effective treatment for patients with systemic lupus erythematosus.
