ObjectiveOur study aimed to investigate the expression of PDK1,HO-1 and HIF-1? in epithelial ovarian cancer,borderline ovarian tumors and normal ovarian tissue.Furthermore,we analyze the relationship between the expression of three proteins and clinicopathological parameters.We suppose to explore the role and significance of these proteins in the metabolic reprogramming of ovarian cancer.MethodsA total of 47 specimens tissues of epithelial ovarian cancer,17 specimens of borderline mucinous cyst adenoma tissues and 22 specimens of normal ovarian tissue were collected from the Third Affiliated Hospital Of Nanchang University.Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of PDK1,HO-1 and HIF-1?.The menopausal status of patients with epithelial ovarian cancer,preoperative CA125 level,pathological grade,FIGO stage,and whether lymph node metastasis was included in the statistical analysis.what is more,the relationships between PDK1 and HIF-1?,PDK1 and HO-1 in epithelial ovarian cancer and ovarian borderline tumors was analyzed.ResultsThe expression of PDK1 was different to epithelial ovarian cancer,borderline tumors,and normal ovarian tissues,which increased from the malignant of tumor.The high expression of PDK1 was associated with lymph node metastasis.The expressions of HO-1 and HIF-1? in epithelial ovarian cancer and borderline tumors are both higher than those in normal ovarian tissues,and they are positively correlated with FIGO grade and pathological stage.Both HO-1 and PDK1,PDK1 and HIF-1? are positively correlated in epithelial ovarian cancer.ConclusionMetabolic reprogramming occurred in both epithelial ovarian cancer and ovarian borderline tumors.The expression of PDK1 can be used as an independent risk factor of lymph node metastasis,which also work to distinguish ovarian cancer and borderline tumor in a certain context.Weather PDK1 and HO-1 or PDK1 and HIF-1? plays a synergistic role in the development of ovarian cancer.
