Object To observe the expression level of arrest defective 1(ARD1;also known as N-?-acetyltransferase 10[Naa10p])in Esophageal Squamous-Cell Carcinoma(ESCC)tumor tissue, and preliminarily discuss the relationship and clinical significance between the expression level of ARD1 in ESCC and the clinical characteristics. Methods 1.Selecting 50 ESCC cases the tumor tissue and the homogenous esophageal adjacent tissues(distance from the tumor tissue?5cm)from operation excision, and collecting above cases clinical data. All patients were not treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy before surgery.Radical esophageal cancer surgery was performed after confirmed diagnosed by gastroscopy and pathological diagnosis.2.The expression level of ARD1 in 50 cases of ESCC tumor tissues and homogenous esophageal adjacent tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry(IHC).3.SPSS17.0 statistical software was used to analyze the differences that the expression level of ARD1in ESCC cases tumor tissues and homogenous esophageal adjacent tissues, and exploring relevance which the expression levels of ARD1in the tumor tissue and clinical characteristics which including depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis, clinical stage, prognosis et al.Results 1.ARD1 is mainly located in the cytoplasm. The positive expression rate of ARD1 in ESCC patients'tumor tissues is 100%(50/50),and homogenous esophageal adjacent tissues is60%(30/50).The expression level was significantly higher than the homogenous esophageal adjacent tissues, and the statistical difference was significant(?~2=26.272,P<0.001).2.The expression level of ARD1 in ESCC tumor tissues was correlated with depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and clinical stage, with significant differences(all P<0.05).3.ARD1expression levels have no statistically significant in age, sex, tumor location, differentiation, and vascular infiltration(all P>0.05).4.The results of Kaplan-Meier survival analysis suggested that the low expression level of ARD1 patients had significantly prolonged in postoperative survival, with significant differences(P=0.019).Conclusion ARD1 is highly expressed in tumor tissues of ESCC patients. The expression levels of ARD1 was related to depth of tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis, clinical stage and postoperative survival.Suggesting that ARD1 may be related to tumor invasion in ESCC patients, and may be an index to predict the prognosis of ESCC patients and potential therapeutic targets.
