Objective: To investigate the effect of platelet rich plasma on the graft maturity after anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)reconstruction and explore the clinical efficacy of platelet rich plasma in ACL reconstruction. Methods: Patients undergoing the ACL reconstruction between August 2017 to October 2018 were included in the study.Patients were randomly divided into study group(used platelet rich plasma during operation)and control group(used normal saline during operation). At three,6 and 12 months after operation,MRI was used to measure the signal intensity of ACL grafts proximal, middle and distal, and the signal/noise quotient(SNQ)was calculated to evaluate the maturity of ACL grafts, and the pain and function scores(VAS,Lysholm,IKDC scores)at 3,6 and 12 months postoperatively and the KT-2000 results at 12 months postoperatively were compared between the study group and the control group. Results: A total of 40 patients receiving ACL reconstruction were enrolled in this study, all patients did not have knee joint infection, vascular and nerve injury and other complications. The results showed that the SNQ of the ACL grafts was higher in 6months than in 3 and 12 months after operation, and statistically significant differences were observed in the SNQ value of middle and distal part of the ACL grafts between the study group and the control group(P < 0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the SNQ value of the proximal part at each time points(P>0.05);In the aspect of the VAS,Lysholm and IKDC scores, the study group was significant better than that of the control group at 3 months postoperatively(P<0.05);the difference was notstatistically significant between the study group and the control group at 6 and 12 months postoperatively(P>0.05).In KT-2000 examination, there was no significant difference between the study group and the control group before operation, and the study group was significant better than the control group during the 12 month follow-up.Conclusion: The application of platelet rich plasma in ACL reconstruction can accelerate the maturity of the graft, relieve the pain of the knee joint, improve the function of the knee joint and increase the stability of the knee joint in the early postoperative period.
