Objective:To investigate the value of T2-DWI fusion image in preoperative T staging of rectal cancer. Methods:A retrospective analysis of 80 patients with rectal cancer who underwent surgical treatment at the China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University from January 2017 to June 2019,including T2 WI axial images,diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI)and clinical Pathological staging results. The T2 WI axial image was fused with a high b-value DWI image(b = 1000)to obtain a T2-DWI fused image. The images that were poorly matched or could not be displayed were eliminated, and a total of 56T2-DWI fused images were obtained.2 physicians with only 1 year of imaging learning experience were recruited and were classified as low seniority group and 2 physicians with 5 years of imaging diagnosis experience were classified as high seniority group. Two junior physicians were trained by the same senior physician on the t-staging criteria for rectal cancer. Each physician reads 80 T2 WI combined DWI images and56 T2-DWI fusion images one by one,and double-blind readings are taken twice before and after, with an interval of 1 month, and the results of each T staging and the time taken for staging are recorded. For seconds:s.The results of T staging using conventional T2 WI combined with DWI and T2-DWI fusion images were compared with the pathological staging results and the learning curve was drawn. After the doctors mastered the skills of T staging of rectal cancer, the T2 WI combined with DWI The accuracy of the T-staging and the length of time of reading the images were fused with the T2-DWI image.Results:1.The accuracy of T staging by T2-DWI fusion images after mastering the T staging skills of 4 physicians was 86.84%,89.47%,88.37%,and 85.71%,which are higher than the accuracy rates of conventional T2 WI combined DWI at 73.33%,81.13%,79.01%,75.00%;2.The average reading time of the 4 physicians using T2-DWI fusion images was 15.20 s,26.44 s,16.05 s,and 24.71 s,which are significantly shorter than the average length of the conventional T2 WI combined DWI sequence staging of 71.77 s and 95.13 s,27.58 s,46.70 s.Conclusion:Preoperative T staging of rectal cancer using T2-DWI fusion images can improve the accuracy of T staging of rectal cancer compared with conventional T2 WI combined with DWI sequence, and can shorten the length of reading.
