Meta-analysis Of The Effect Of Adjuvant Radiotherapy On The Prognosis Of Patients With High-grade Meningioma

Objective: The meta-analysis was used to objectively and systematic evaluate the effect of adjuvant radiotherapy on the prognosis of patients with high-grade meningioma,so as to provide reference for the selection of clinical treatment plan and future research direction for patients with meningioma.Methods: Literature on the clinical study of high grade meningioma with adjuvant radiotherapy published before February 2020 in Pub Med,EMBASE,Cochrane Library and Web of Science was retrieved.After literature screening,relevant data in the selected literature were extracted,and the data were processed by Review Manager5.3 software for meta analysis.Results:According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,4 articles were selected.A total of 525 patients were included in the 4 literatures,among which 146 patients in the exposure group received surgical treatment + adjuvant radiotherapy,while 379 patients in the non-exposure group received surgical treatment alone.The results of meta-analysis showed that there was no statistically significant difference in the prognosis of patients between the exposed group and the non-exposed group(HR=0.74,95%CI? 0.50-1.08,P=0.12).The results of subgroup analysis showed that the differences of study objects did not lead to data heterogeneity.No obvious publication bias was found by subjective funnel plot analysis.Radiotherapy can also lead to different degrees of adverse reactions,but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.Conclusion: Research and analysis the current existing literature,through the extraction and analysis,learned that adjuvant radiation therapy can improve the high level the prognosis of patients with meningioma,the role of adjuvant radiotherapy in high level meningioma is not clear,need more prospective randomized trial to explore the role of adjuvant radiotherapy in high-level meningioma,improve the treatment plan.
