Purpose:Atrial fibrillation(AF)is currently one of the more frequent diseases in China.Studies have shown that atrial fibrillation is usually associated with structural changes and dysfunction of the right heart, but there are few echocardiographic studies on the changes of right heart morphology and function in patients with atrial fibrillation before and after treatment. In this study,real-time three-dimensional echocardiography(RT-3DE)was used to evaluate the changes of right heart size and function in patients with atrial fibrillation before and after radiofrequency ablation. The purpose of this study was to explore the changes of right heart size and function in patients with atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation,so as to evaluate the therapeutic effect of radiofrequency ablation on patients with atrial fibrillation and provide quantitative data for clinicians. Methods:A total of 35 patients with atrial fibrillation were collected from July 2019 to November 2019.All patients underwent echocardiography before radiofrequency ablation,1 month after surgery, and 3 months after surgery.Connect the ECG to the patient and measure the following parameters by GE Vivid E9: right ventricular diameter(RVd),right atrium short diameter(RASd),right atrium long diameter(RALd),right ventricular fractional area change(RVFAC),tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion(TAPSE),right ventricular sidewall tricuspid annulus systolic tissue velocity(S '),right ventricular myocardial performance index(RIMP).Using real-time three-dimensionalechocardiography technology, the right ventricular full-volume image of the apical four-chamber view is stored, and analyzed by EchoPac software offline. The system can automatically display the right ventricular end systolic volume(RVESV)and right ventricular end diastolic volume(RVEDV),and calculates the right ventricular ejection fraction(RVEF).Result:Compared with pre-operation,the TAPSE and RVEF of patients with atrial fibrillation increased by 1 month and 3 months after radiofrequency ablation, the differences were statistically significant(P <0.05).Compared with the ones before operation,RVFAC,S' increased and RIMP decreased at 3 months after operation, differences were statistically significant(all P <0.05).RASd,RALd,RVESV,and RVEDV showed a downward trend in patients with atrial fibrillation after operation, but the differences were not statistically significant(P> 0.05).Conclusion:After radiofrequency ablation, patients with atrial fibrillation have a reduction in the size of right heart and an increase in right heart function.Compared with patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, radiofrequency ablation has more significant changes in right heart parameters in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation.Studies have shown that real-time three-dimensional echocardiography can be used to assess changes in volume and function of right heart in patients with atrial fibrillation.
