ObjectiveTo understand the characteristics and the development of attentional blink and the function of inhibition control of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and typical children, and to explore the development of attentional blink of ADHD children and typical children at different ages.We also want to explore the relationship between the characteristic of attentional blink and inhibition control in both two groups.MethodsThis study collected 118 ADHD children aged 8-13 years and 264 typical children. The RSVP paradigm was used for repeated measurement experiments.1.Using 2(group)×7(stimulus presentation position)mixed experiment design to detect the characteristics of attentional blink between the two groups;2.Using 5(grade)×7(presentation position)mixed experiment design to compare the development characteristics of attentional blink in different grades in each group;3.Use 3(subtype)× 7(presentation position)mixed experimental design to compare the characteristics of attentional blink in different subtypes.4.Explore the function of inhibition control of 30 children in the ADHD group and control group who completed all the task.Use correlation analysis to explore the relationship between attentional blink and inhibition control.Results1.The recognition rate of T1 and T2 in ADHD group was lower than that in control group(p=0.000<0.001).The difference between the two groups was not significant(p=0.230>0.05).The difference in amplitude was not significant(p=0.847>0.05),but control group recovered faster from the attentional blink(p=0.005<0.01).2.As the grades increase, the typical group are less affected by the attentional blink(F=15.689,p<0.001),however,there is no significant change in ADHD group(F=2.308,p>0.05).3.Attention deficit type of ADHD has a significant lower rate of detection of post-P4 stimulation than mixed type of ADHD(p<0.05),and maximum amplitude of attentional blink in the attention deficit subtype is not a certain point,it lasts for a while.4.In the ADHD group, the function of inhibition control ability was worse, and individuals with strong inhibition control ability had higher recognition rate of the stimulus in RSVP task(p<0.05).This results provide evidence for the relationship between the attentional blink and inhibition ability.5.The more severe the symptoms on SNAP-IV scale of ADHD,the longer the reaction time is required in inhibition control task(GNG).Conclusion1.Compared with the control group,ADHD children suffered from attention blink more seriously, lasted longer and recovered slowly. The characteristics of attention blink of different subtypes of ADHD were different. There was no gradual change among grades. With the increase of grades, the influence of attention blink did not weaken.2.Compared with the control group,ADHD children had poorer inhibition control ability. The study of inhibition control ability and attention blink characteristics of two groups indicated that there was a correlation between them.3.The severity of attention deficit and hyperimpulsive symptoms significantly affected the response time index of inhibition control ability.
