Fufangsishen Keli is a compound preparation traditional Chinese medicine, the prescription is made up of nine traditional Chinese medicinal materials, including radix pseudostellariae, salvia miltiorrhiza, radix adenophorae, flavescentis, liquorice, polygala, semen ziziphi spinosae, aadix Curcumae and lotus plumule. It is wildely used in a various heart deseases and rrhythmia in the Shanghai No 1 People's Hospital. In order to promote the wide range of clinical applications of Fufangsishen Keli,on the basis of previous research in our laboratory, this study firstly provided pre-clinical safety for the application of Fufangsishen Keli through the work of general pharmacology in mice. Then in the major pharmacological research of Fufangsishen Keli, this study mainly studied its protective effects on cardiac muscle cells.By taking advantage of many animal models, such as anesthetic dogs,we found that Fufangsishen Keli was able to increase coronary blood flow and reduce myocardial oxygen consumption to improve myocardial oxygen supply, and did not cause arrhythmia.Through the study of myocardial infarct rats,we found that Fufangsishen Keli reduced the size of myocardial infarction and the rate of infarction.Through the study of the rat model of blood stasis,we found that Fufangsishen Keli reduced the apoptosis of cardiac myocytes, protected the cardiac myocytes and reduced the cardiac load.By studying the atherosclerotic guinea pigs and LDLR-knockout mice,we found that Fufangsishen Keli played an important role in anti-cardiovascular disease by protecting cardiac cells and regulating metabolic disorders. Our study proved that Fufangsishen Keli had good cardiac protective effects and can be widely used for the treatment ofcardiovascular diseases.
