Value Of Conventional Ultrasound Combined With Real-time Two-dimensional Shear Wave Elastography Used For Evaluating The Efficacy Of ¹³¹? Treatment For Patients With Graves Hyperthyroidism

Objectives:To investigate the value of conventional ultrasound combined with real-time two-dimensional shear wave elastography?2D-SWE?used for evaluating the early effect of ¹³¹I treatment of Graves Hyperthyroidism.Methods:The study included 62 Graves Hyperthyroidism patients who received ¹³¹I treatment for the first time.The thyroid ultrasound indexes,including thyroid volume?TV?,superior thyroid artery hemodynamic indexes?PSV,EDV and RI?,thyroid hardness indexes?YMmax,YMmean,SWVmax and SWVmean?and thyroid function indexes?TSH,FT3 and FT4?,were performed before and 3 months after treatment.The data were analyzed by a matched sample test.Pearson correlation analysis was used for analyzing the correlation between thyroid ultrasound indexes and FT3 before and after treatment.Results:After ¹³¹I treatment TV,PSV,EDV,FT3 and FT4 were significantly decreased,while TSH and all thyroid hardness indexes were significantly increased?P<0.05?.Pearson correlation analysis showed that before treatment there were positive correlation between TV,PSV,EDV,YMmax,YMmean,SWVmax,SWVmean?r=0.29,0.49,0.44,0.36,0.36,0.39,0.38;P<0.05?and FT3.Three months after ¹³¹I treatment,no significant correlation between all thyroid ultrasound indexes and FT3 was found.Conclusions:Conventional ultrasound combined with real-time2D-SWE could quantitatively detect TV,thyroid hemodynamic indexes and thyroid hardness indexes before and after ¹³¹I treatment,providing a comprehensive objective basis for the initial evaluation of treatment.This innovative ultrasound evaluation system was expected to further improve the clinical evaluation scheme for patients with Graves Hyperthyroidism.
