Objective: the actual operating conditions of some inspection items of montmorillonite powder were not strictly specified,resulting in uneven quality inspection results due to inconsistent experimental conditions in the quality inspection of montmorillonite powder by various manufacturers.Based on the existing quality research methods,this study optimized and innovated the experimental conditions of the key quality properties of montmorillonite powder test items,so as to provide reference for the quality consistency evaluation of montmorillonite powder.Methods: the particle size of montmorillonite powder was detected by Marvin laser particle size method;The particle size and adsorption capacity of montmorillonite powder were evaluated indirectly by settlement volume ratio analysis;The adsorption capacity of montmorillonite powder was evaluated by nitrogen adsorption determination of specific surface area method and trichlorohexanamine-cobalt method;X-ray diffraction was used to identify montmorillonite and detect the content of calcite and other impurities;The content of 7 kinds of heavy metals in montmorillonite powder was measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometry.Results: the dispersion conditions of samples were optimized by Marvin laser particle size method;A method for the determination of settlement volume ratio was established,which indirectly reflected the particle size and adsorption ability of montmorillonite powder;A method for the determination of specific surface area by nitrogen adsorption was established and the water content of the sample was controlled;The experiment of determination of adsorption capacity by trichlorohexanol and cobalt method is safe,and easy to operate;The method of X-ray diffraction to identify montmorillonite and detect the content of calcite and other impurities was optimized;The content of seven heavy metals in montmorillonite powder was measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometry;The proposed quality standard of montmorillonite powder was established,and the batches all met the quality standard.Conclusion: this study optimized the experimental conditions of the key quality attribute test items of montmorillonite powder,which can provide scientific reference for the quality consistency evaluation of montmorillonite powder.
