Objective:To compare the effect of left and right stellate ganglion block on menopausal hot flashes and its effect on short-range heart rate variability. Methods:A total of 40 patients with menopausal hot flashes who were admitted to the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from October 2018 to October 2019 were selected.According to the method of coin toss, they were divided into the left SGB group(LSGB group)and the right SGB group(RSGB group),20 cases in each group. They underwent ultrasound-guided SGB treatment at intervals of one day,5 times / course, for a total of 2courses.The hot flash scores(intensity and frequency)and HRV indicators, including low frequency(LF),high frequency(HF),and LF / HF ratios, were measured before and1 month after treatment, and the effective rate of the patients in 1 month after treatment was calculated. Results:All patients successfully completed 2 courses of SGB,and none of them withdrew. The effective rate of the RSGB group was significantly higher than the LSGB group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in age? BMI ?LF ?HF? LF / HF and hot flash scores between the two groups before treatment(P> 0.05).and the LF,LF / HF,and hot flash scores of the RSGB group at 1 month after treatment were significantly lowerthan LSGB group(P <0.05),but there was no statistical difference in HF(P > 0.05).Compared with before treatment, the LF,LF / HF,and hot flash scores of the RSGB group were significantly reduced(P <0.001)and there was no significant change in HF(P> 0.05)in the 1 month after the treatment, while the LF LF/HF and hot flashes scores of the LSGB group showed no statistical difference(P>0.05).Conclusion:Compared with LSGB,RSGB is more effective in alleviating the symptoms of hot flashes in menopausal women, and adjusting the sympathetic-parasympathetic nervous system tension, reducing the sympathetic nerve activity, moving the balance to the parasympathetic direction, and achieving a new balance.
