| As China’s reform and opening up and the strategy of “going global” are going deeper,as well as the growing cooperation and exchange between China and the other countries in the world,the broad and profound Chinese culture is gradually going more and more global and accepted and appreciated by the people of the world.Specifically,in terms of medicine,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)is not only rich in connotation but also has specific Chinese characteristics,and becomes more and more popular in western countries.However,it is not difficult to find that the translations of TCM terms,especially the culture-loaded terms are of inconformity.Such a phenomenon leads to the confusion in the translation of TCM terms,which has brought difficulties to break through cultural barriers and faithfully transmit the original text information in TCM translation.Therefore,in order to solve these difficulties,the author classifies TCM terms and analyzes the characteristics of various types when translating this medical paper.Then,under the guidance of domestication and foreignization strategies,various translation methods under the two strategies are classified,and the comprehensive application of these methods is explored.Finally,it is pointed out that in order to accurately translate TCM terms: firstly,it is necessary to deeply understand the TCM cultural knowledge that maintains rich characteristic connotation,especially the background knowledge related to the medical text to be translated;secondly,it is necessary to use appropriate translation methods.Through the analysis and exploration of the application of various translation methods,this report aims to provide a certain reference for the future to better translate TCM terms and make a due contribution for TCM culture to go to the world and promote the communication between TCM and Western medicine culture. |
