Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics and operation timing of necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)in children.Methods:175 children with necrotizing enterocolitis admitted to our hospital were collected from January 2000 to January 2019.Their clinical manifestations, examination results, intraoperative conditions and prognosis were analyzed. Results:Among the 175 cases, there were 81 preterm infants,71 low birth weight newborns. There were 103 cases developing vomiting,82 cases developing appetite loss,51 cases of pneumatosis intestinalis,27 cases of portal veins gas. There were 60 cases of enterotomy with enterostomy,58 cases of perforation repair with enterostomy,14 cases of enterostomy,17 cases of enterotomy,11 cases of enterotomy with enterostomy,12 cases of peritoneal drainage,3 cases of abandonment of treatment. Conclusion:Peritonitis, intestinal obstruction and intestinal perforation are the universally acknowledged indications of the operation in NEC.But which underwent above manifestations in 175 cases mostly combined intestinal necrosis and poor prognosis, stating that the above indications are not the best timing for operation. Before the above indications of operation,if there occurs a significant trend of aggravation in standardized conservative treatment, active surgical intervention may be more conducive to the children with NEC.
