Objective:To evaluate the effects of epidural labor analgesia on the content of glutamate in maternal venous blood,so as to evaluate whether there is a correlation between epidural labor analgesia changing the content of glutamate in maternal venous blood and reducing the incidence of postpartum depression. Methods:According to the principle of voluntary participation in this study,120 full-term single head pregnant parturients admitted to Jinzhong Maternal and Child Health Hospital from May 2018 to November 2018 were divided into two groups with random number table method,60 cases in each group. The control group(group A)did not carry out labor analgesia and was treated according to natural labor routine procedures. The epidural analgesia group(group B)was treated with patient controlled epidural labor(PCEA)analgesia. The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)of two groups of parturients at 3,6,8,10 cm were observed and recorded. The labor period and neonatal Apgar score of the two groups were recorded.Immediately before analgesia,at the end of the third stage of labor and 42 days after delivery,Glutamate(Glu)in elbow vein blood was measured by high performance liquid chromatography, and Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale(EPDS)score was measured at 42 days after delivery. Results:There was no significant difference between the two groups in the labor period andneonatal Apgar score.Compared with group A,after delivery labor analgesia, the VAS score of group B was significantly reduced(P < 0.05).The 42-day postpartum EPDS score and postpartum depression incidence in group A were significantly higher than group B(P < 0.05).Before analgesia immediately, there was no statistically significant difference in venous blood Glu content between the two groups(P > 0.05).Compared with immediately before analgesia,at the end of the third stage of labor, the Glu content of group A increased significantly, and the Glu content of group B decreased significantly(P < 0.05).The Glu content of the two groups of maternal women decreased significantly at 42 days postpartum, and the Glu content of the maternal women of group B decreased more significantly(P < 0.05).Conclusion:Epidural labor analgesia can reduce the incidence of postpartum depression, and its mechanism may be related to the relief of labor pain and the reduction of glutamate content in maternal venous blood.
