Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of coronary guidewire and traditional peripheral hydrophilic guidewire in the intervention operation of chronic total occlusion of the subclavian artery. Methods:A total of 57 cases of chronic total occlusion of the subclavian artery were collected from our hospital from January 2015 to January 2019,including 40 males and 17 females. The average age of the patients was(60.5 ± 9.6)years,and the average course of disease was(21.9 ± 10.4)months.According to the different guide wires used in the operation, there were 29 cases in the coronary guidewire group and 28 cases in the traditional peripheral hydrophilic guidewire group. The comparison between the two groups included the success rate of surgery, the incidence of surgical complications, the time of surgery, the exposure time of X-rays,and the restenosis rate within 6 months after surgery. Results:In the coronary guidewire group, the success rate was 96.6%,the complication rate was 6.9%,the average operation time was(116.4±37.5)minutes and the X-ray exposure time was(99.1±36.1)minutes.In the traditional peripheral hydrophilic guidewire group, the success rate was 78.6%,the complication rate was 28.6%,the average operation time was(140.0±45.6)minutes and the X-ray exposure time was(126.6±45.7)minutes.Compared with the traditional peripheral hydrophilic guidewire group, the coronary guidewire group had a higher success rate and a lower incidence of complications. The operation time and X-ray exposure time of the coronary guidewire group were shorter. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Coronary arterial guidewires are safer and more effective for opening chronic total occlusion of subclavian artery than traditional peripheral hydrophilic guidewires.Interventional surgeons can use coronary guidewires or in combination with traditional peripheral hydrophilic guidewires to open subclavian artery.
