Acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)is a common disease in intensive care unit.Mechanical ventilation,as an important method in the treatment of ARDS,plays an important role in helping patients to achieve gas exchange and reduce the work of breathing. As a new respiratory support mode,high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy(HFNC),which can provide stable oxygen concentration and flow rate, decrease anatomic dead space, provide a degree of positive end expiratory pressure(PEEP),reduce the work of breathing and enhance patient comfort and tolerance, has been widely used in clinical work. However, the efficacy and safety of HFNC in patients with ARDS is always controversial and the timing is not clear. This article reviews the current situation of high-flow oxygen therapy in ARDS. |
