Objective: To assess the application value of ultrasound(US)in the diagnosis of new lesions in the abdominal and pelvic cavity and evaluation on therapeutic efficacy for gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST)patients after surgery, compared with contrast enhanced computed tomography(CECT).Methods: Totally 139 GIST patients were included.Image data of postoperative follow-up acquired from US and CECT were collected and retrospectively analyzed. And the consistency of US and CECT in detecting new lesions in abdominal and pelvic cavity was compared.Based on MDT results, the diagnostic accuracy and sensitivity of US and CECT in diagnosis of new lesions of abdominal and pelvic cavity were compared. The response evaluation criteria in solid tumors(RECIST)was used as the standard of therapeutic efficacy evaluation. The consistency of the twoimage methods in evaluating treatment response of molecular targeted drugs for GIST was compared. Results: No significant differences in diagnosis of new lesions of abdominal and pelvic cavity, and evaluation on molecular targeted therapeutic efficacy for postoperative GIST patients between using US and CECT(both P>0.05.).The consistency of US and CECT in detecting new abdominal and pelvic lesions after GIST surgery was satisfactory, the Kappa value was 0.921(P<0.001).The accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of US and CECT in diagnosis new abdominal and pelvic lesions for GIST patients after surgery were 95%,98%,90%,97% and 96%,98%,respectively.The coincidence test result was satisfactory for measuring treatment response using US and CECT,and the Kappa value were 0.811(p<0.001).Conclusions: US is comparative to CECT in diagnosis of new lesions in abdominal and pelvic cavity, and in evaluation treatment response for GIST patients during postoperative follow up,which is potentially feasible to be used in clinic and could be helpful to decrease the frequency of CECT using in future, thus reducing ionizing radiation and cost. |
