Objective: It has been reported in the literature that cerebral infarction is not uncommon as a complication of tuberculous meningitis(TBM),resulting in complicated conditions and poor prognosis of patients. This study aims to evaluate the clinical characteristics of secondary cerebral infarction of tuberculous meningitis, and to evaluate the relevant factors of cerebral infarction in TBM patients to guide clinical practice. Methods: The research was based on a retrospective study of all tuberculous meningitis patients admitted to the first affiliated hospital of chong qing medical university From June 2013 to June 2019 Basic demographic data, routine vascular risk factors, imaging and laboratory data,TBM severity, and neurological outcomes were collected.SPSS 22.0 was used to analyze the data, and chi-square test, correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to analyze the related factors of cerebral infarction in patients with tuberculous meningitis and the influence of cerebral infarction on the prognosis of patients. Results: The research included 190 adults with TBM cases,of which19(10.00%)had cerebral infarction. It was mainly concentrated in the population over 60 years old, accounting for 47.37%.And infarction in the single factor analysis of main factors related to age, gender, history of hypertension, hypoxemia, admission GCS score, hypoalbuminemia, further more factor analysis found that gender(OR = 0.126,95% CI 0.023 0.693),hypertension(OR = 0.106,95% CI 0.021 0.545),hypoalbuminemia(OR =0.13,95% CI0.035-0.482)were independent risk factors for cerebral infarction. Conclusion: the incidence of middle cerebral infarction in patients with tuberculosis in our hospital is low.Hypertension, gender, hypoxemia, hypoproteinemia and GCS score on admission may be the related factors of cerebral infarction in patients with cerebral infarction.Gender, hypertension and hypoproteinemia were independent risk factors for cerebral infarction.
