Advances In The Prevention And Treatment Of Malnutrition In Patients With Head And Neck Cancer During Radiotherapy And Chemotherapy

Head and neck cancers are common malignant tumors in the world.Radiotherapy and chemotherapy play important roles in patients with advanced local disease.However,at the same time of achieving curative effects,the related adverse reactions should not be underestimated,Symptoms such as radiation-induced oral mucositis,dysphagia,are easy to cause malnutrition,which will reduce patient's tolerance and the response to treatment,increase the risk of discontinuation of treatment.And malnutrition is also a risk factor for poor tumor prognosis.Therefore,timely diagnosis and intervention of malnutrition in radiotherapy and chemotherapy are particularly important for patients with head and neck cancer.This review will introduce the etiology,influence,diagnosis,prevention and treatment of malnutrition in patients with head and neck cancer during radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
