Non-suicidal self-injury refers to a series of actions that repeatedly, deliberately, and directly harm body without the intention of ending one’s life.In recent years, the incidence of non-suicidal self-injury has increased year by year worldwide, and it has become one of the important factors that affect human health development and reduce the quality of life.Among all age groups, the impact on young people is particularly significant. At present,non-suicidal self-injury has been studied as a separate clinical disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders(Fifth Edition)(DSM-5).However,the effective treatment for non-suicidal self-injury has not yet been determined and needs to be studied urgently. In recent years,as a new,evidence-based and effective psychotherapy, dialectical behavior therapy(DBT)has been widely used in the clinical treatment of non-suicidal self-injury in Western countries.DBT is a new type of cognitive behavior therapy(CBT)which is developed from traditional CBT.It emphasizes the change of behavior and management of emotions through dialectical balance and synthesis of acceptance and change.Several studies have shown that dialectical behavior therapy is effective for patients with non-suicidal self-injury.Therefore,the purpose of this article is to summarize the relevant literature, and to systematically analyze the efficacy, advantages and application prospects of dialecticalbehavior therapy in non-suicidal self-injury treatment,so as to provide an effective basis for subsequent treatment.
