Objective To explore the feasibility of preoperative quantitative evaluation of T stage of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma based on radiomics features extracted from enhanced MRI.Methods The clinical data and enhanced MRI T1 WI images of 105 patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma confirmed by operation and pathology were analyzed retrospectively. All patients were divided into training group and verification group according to the principle of randomization. After tumor segmentation in MRI images,a total of 396 radiomics parameters were extracted.Algorithms such as minimum absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)were used to remove the redundancy of radiomics features. The radscore were generated according to the characteristics extracted by the training group, and the radiomics model was constructed by logical regression. The receiver operator characteristic(ROC)curves of the training group and the verification group were drawn to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of the model in distinguishing T1-T2 stage and T3 stage esophageal cancer. Results Among the 105 patients,74 in the training group and 31 in the verification group. There were no significant differences in gender, age and T stage between the two groups. After feature extraction, dimensionality reduction and filtering, two features,SurfaceArea and ClusterShade_angle135_offset4,are finally obtained to construct the radscore. After building the logistic regression model based on radscore, the area under curve(AUC)of the model in the training group was 0.71,the model sensitivity was 0.81,and the specificity was 0.55;The AUC of the verification group was 0.70,the sensitivity was 0.93,and the specificity was 0.43.Conclusion Based on the enhanced MRI,the radiomics model can be used to diagnose the stage of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
