Agarwood has been a traditional precious medicinal material and natural fragrance since ancient times.Wild agarwood is rare and expensive,so artificial cultivation of agarwood trees and techniques of producing agarwood have emerged.There are 150,000 mu?about 24710.5 acres?of cultivated agarwood trees in Guangxi,but there is little research on related technologies.Therefore,this paper makes a preliminary discussion on the quality of artificial agarwood in Guangxi.17 batches of agarwood oil were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry?GC-MS?.The results showed that the main components of agarwood oil were sesquiterpenes?44.92%-63.71%?.The similarity evaluation and stoichiometric analysis indicated that the artificial agarwood from Guangxi was similar to the low-grade Hainan wild agarwood.The alcohol extracts of 11 agarwood samples were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography-time of flight mass spectrometer?UPLC-QTOF-MS?.The main components of natural and artificial agarwood alcohol extracts were determined to be 2-?2-phenyl ethyl?chromone and its related derivatives.The study of the biological activities of natural and artificial alcohol extracts found that the alcohol extracts of natural agarwood were stronger than the artificial agarwood in the antioxidant experiments.However,artificial agarwood was slightly better than natural agarwood in antibacterial experiments.There was no significant difference in the inhibitory activity of the two kinds of alcohol extracts on tumor cells.The constituents of agarwood oil that was obtained via supercritical CO2extraction and water distillation were analyzed in GC-MS,and biological activities experiment were made.The results showed that the main components of agarwood oil extracted by water distillation were sesquiterpenes?68.68%?,and the main components of agarwood oil extracted by supercritical CO2 extraction were sesquiterpenes?23.78%?and chromones?29.42%?.The biological activity of agarwood oil extracted by supercritical CO2 extraction was better than that by water distillation.In general,artificial agarwood in Guangxi has basically reached the quality level of natural agarwood.The results could provide references for cultivation,research and comprehensive development and utilization of agarwood in the future.
