Clinical Study Of Exercise Acupuncture In A Specific Position On Head Control Disorder In Children With Mental Retardation

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of exercise acupuncture in a specific position on head control disorder in children with mental retardation Method:A total of 41 children diagnosed as mental retardation and who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into observation group(n=21)and control group(n=20).Both groups were treated with scalp acupuncture and rehabilitation therapy.The observation group was treated with exercise acupuncture in a specific position,while the control group was treated with acupuncture in prone position.The treatments were all given 3 times every week,and the course of these treatments is 3 months,and both groups were treated 1 course.Then comparing the clinical treatment effect to the change of the gross motor score and developmental quotient score of Gesell Developmental Scale(GDS),Part A and B score of the Gross Motor Function Measure-88(GMFM-88),the median frequency(MF)of surface electromyography signal of head splenius muscle before and after treatments.Results:(1)The total effective rate was 95.24% in the observation group and 90.00% in the control group,There was a statistically significant difference in the total efficacy rate between the two groups(P<0.05).(2)After treatment,gross motor score and developmental quotient of GDS in both groups were all increased(P<0.01),and the observation group was superior to the control group in improving the scores of gross motor(P<0.05).(3)After treatment,score of Part A and Part B of GMFM-88 in both groups were all increased(P<0.01),and the observation group was superior to the control group in improving the scores of both parts(P<0.05).(4)After treatment,the MF of head splenius muscle in 2 groups were higher than that before treatment(P<0.05),and the treatment group was superior to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:(1)Exercise acupuncture in a specific position therapy has good clinical effect on head-control disorder in children with mental retardation.which can promote the whole movement and intelligence development of children.(2)Exercise acupuncture in a specific position therapy also shows a good effect on the improvement of the ability to turn over,sitting movement function.(3)Exercise acupuncture in a specific position therapy can improve the ability of anti-fatigue of neck muscles.
