Objective: to observe the clinical effect of posterior nasal neurecto my combined with functional endoscopic sinus surgery in the treatment of allergic rhinitis(allergic rhinitis,AR).Methods: In total,60 patients with allergic rhinitis who were treated in the o tolaryngological department in the second Hospital of Hebei Medical Un iversity from October 2017 to March 2018 were divided into observatio n group and control group according to the inclusion and exclusion crit eria.Functional nasal endoscopic surgery(Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery,FESS)and bilateral posterior tnasal neuroomy(posterior nasal ne urectomy,PNN)were performed in the observation group, while only fun ctional nasal endoscopic surgery was performed in the control group.Th e patients in the two groups were followed up for 12 months and 24 months, and the effective rate and symptom visual analogue scale(Visu al analogue scale,VAS)scores were used to evaluate the clinical efficac y of posterior nasal neurotomy in the treatment of AR by the comparis on between the observation group and the control group at 12 months a nd 24 months after operation and the comparison between the two grou ps.Results: A total of 54 patients completed the follow-up survey at the end o f the follow-up,including 28 patients in the control group,20 males an d 8 females, aged from 22 to 58 years old, with an average age of(40.43 ±11.06)years,26 patients in the observation group,19 males and 7 females, the age was 22-67 years old,the average age was(44.85 ±13.45)years old. There was no significant difference in sex, age, medical history and VAS score of preoperative symptoms between the two gro ups(P>0.05).1.The sum of VAS scores(nose/eye symptom scores)between the observation group and the control group at 12 and 24 months after oper ation were significantly different(P < 0.05),and the symptoms of the o bservation group were significantly improved.2.The VAS scores of nasal symptoms(sneezing, snot, nasal itching and nasal congestion)in the observation group and the control group a t 24 months after operation were significantly different from those befor e operation(P < 0.05),and the postoperative nasal symptoms were sign ificantly improved.3.There were significant differences in the sum of VAS(nasal / ey e symptoms)scores in the observation group and the control group at 12 months and 24 months after operation compared with those before op eration(P < 0.01),but there was no significant difference in the VAS(nasal / eye symptoms)scores between the observation group and the c ontrol group at 12 months and 24 months after operation(P > 0.05).4.At 12 months after operation, the effective rate of the observation group(100%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(64%),and there was significant difference(x2 = 9.152,P < 0.05).24 months after operation, the effective rate of the observation group(96%)was also significantly higher than that of the control group(57%).The difference was statistically significant(x2= 11.225,P < 0.05).Up to th e end of follow-up: there were 6 cases of recurrence in 19 patients wit h nasal polyps in the control group and no recurrence in 18 patients wi th nasal polyps in the observation group. Conclusion: The curative effect of posterior nasal neurotomy combined with functi onal nasal endoscopic surgery in the treatment of allergic rhinitis is bett er than that of functional nasal endoscopic surgery alone, which is stabl e and worthy of clinical application, and posterior nasal neurotomy may have a certain control effect on the recurrence of nasal polyps, but it needs further clinical confirmation.
