Objective: To explore whether abdominal obesity and high levels of uric acid are risk factors for NAFLD in the general population, and whether there is a synergistic effect between abdominal obesity and high levels of uric acid on the occurrence of NAFLD.Methods: The subjects of physical examination in the health examination center of Tangshan Workers Hospital from March 2018 to October 2018 were selected as observation objects, and a total of 1735 cases were included in the statistical analysis. The prevalence of NAFLD in different gender groups was calculated, and the effects of abdominal obesity and uric acid on the occurrence of NAFLD were analyzed by logistic regression model. The patients were divided into four groups according to waist height ratio and serum uric acid level. The interaction between abdominal obesity and high level uric acid was analyzed by logistic regression model. Results: A total of 1735 patients were included in this study, including 1160 males(66.86%)and 575 females(33.14%).The average age was 53.75 ±10.68 years old,the average WHt R was 0.63 ±0.06,and the average SUA was 285.38 ±82.03 umol / L.After correcting the confounding factors by logistic regression model,we found that uric acid and abdominal obesity were both risk factors for NAFLD.Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the odds ratios(ORs)of occurence NAFLD were 1.94 95%CI 1.42-2.66 in high levels of uric acid group compared to non-high levels uric acid group.Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the odds ratios(ORs)of occurence NAFLD were 1.83 95%CI 1.47-2.29 in abdominal obesity group compared to non-abdominal obesity group.Further analysis showed that the risk of NAFLD in abdominal obesity with high level uric acid group was higher than that of single factor, and the two had an additive effect on the occurrence of NAFLD.Conclusions: Uric acid and abdominal obesity are both risk factors for NAFLD.In addition, there is a synergistic effect between uric acid and abdominal obesity on the occurrence of NAFLD.Women are more likely to develop NAFLD than men.
