Objective To analyze the quantitative relationship between liver resection volume(0%,30%,50%,70%)and hepatic functional reserve in different states(cirrhosis / normal liver)of rats, the changes of quantitative indicators of HFR in different states and the probability of liver failure were investigated. Methods 120 Wistar rats were randomly divided into an experimental group(cirrhosis)and a normal group(normal liver).Rats’ livers in the normal group were left untreated while a liver cirrhosis model was prepared by bile duct ligation in the experimental group.60 rats in the experimental group and 60 in the control group underwent liver resection at 0%(Group A),30%(Group B),50%(Group C),and 70%(Group D)after 6 weeks of ligation. After hepatectomy, rats were immediately injected with ICG solution in the left renal vein.15 minutes later, blood was collected from inferior vena cava of rats, plasma was collected after centrifugation, and ICG-R15 value was measured at 805 nm by a UV spectrophotometer. For the liver tissue removed from the experimental group, paraffin embedding and continuous section were performed for routine pathological examination. Results Compared with the experimental group, the ICG value of rats in the normal group decreased to varying degrees(P<0.05).With the increase of the proportion of liver resection, the ICG value increased significantly, and there were significant differences among Group A,B,C and D of the experimental group(P<0.05).The ICG value in the normal group increased to varying degrees with the increase in liver resection volume, and there were significant differences among four groups(P<0.05),but there was no statistical difference between Group B and Group C(P>0.05).The ICG-R15 of the rats in the experimental group(Group A,B,C,and D)respectively were: 13.43 ± 1.14%,24.67 ± 1.86%,33.11 ± 2.00%,and 43.94 ± 3.31%.And the ICG-R15 of the rats in the normal group(Group A,B,C,and D)respectively were: 3.62 ± 0.44%,7.36 ± 0.47%,7.82 ± 0.70%,and 12.70 ±0.74%.Conclusions Liver failure occurred in Group C and D of the experimental group, and the risk of liver failure was lower in the normal group.
